According to Abrams, he was studying ESP at Oxford when he was contacted by a man named Robert Lashbrook, who was with a Washington D.C. organisation called the human Ecology Fund.
At first, Lashbrook professed interest in his ESP experiments, but subsequently, at a meeting that included Lashbrooks boss, Dr. sidney Gottlieb, it was revealed that the HEF was actually a branch of the CIA and that its chief mission was to test a new drug, LSD. The CIA was buying the drug in large amounts from a Swiss-based pharmaceutical firm, Sandoz Laboratories. In fact, the CIA, Abrams discovered, was to buy Sandoz's entire production of LSD-a mamooth ten kilos, which over time, would have been enough to have turned on the ENTIRE Western world.
