In other words . . . the website (GoneMovie.com) admits that it has no rights to the images; and therefore cannot enforce any right against their use, since they are not holders of the rights to use them either.

I also invite the investigation of the application of "fair use" in the electronic world. Kelly v ArribaS oft and also Perfect 10 v Google, both out of the 9th Circuit.

Yes, I read it several times, but I kept coming up on this phrase:

It's ok to link to the source of the copyrighted material

Why do you exerpt that portion of a sentence out of context?

"It's ok to link to the source of the copyrighted material but, you can't just copy and paste it...especially if you don't include the source information. It's also ok to include a small segment of an article as long as you list the source. "I read in the Wall Street Journal that speculators are driving up the prices for crude oil even though supplies of crude are near an all time high". Something like that or even more detailed than that is ok. Cutting and pasting the entire article is not ok."

And your argument on that point is completely moot, as the images you have posted are not a links to any source but strictly the actual copyrighted material.

Perhaps I'm wrong in assuming you actually understand what the terminology "link" represents?

Happy Birthday, USN!

My late-uncle was an A-7Echo driver ("Fonzi", needs no more explanation ) with the VFA-37 Raging Bulls off the USS Saratoga. He left me his flight jacket which hangs on our coat rack. Unfortunately he was Maverick-sized rather than Goose-sized so it's even too small for my 11 and 13 year olds.

My uncle served two years during the Vietnam era. He started out as an SK, then cross-rated to DK (Disbursing Clerk). He made E5 in just two years and this gave him his start in finance. He retired a few years ago as a senior VP of a major bank.

My grandfather volunteered for the Navy during WWII. He was rejected due to his poor eyesight, but contributed to the war anyway working as a civilian electrician servicing submarines at the Philadelphia Navy Yard.

I'm a reserve Seabee with seven years in and planning on going for 20 (or more).

Go Navy! Construimus, Batuimus!
