Why does the Gov't need to tell us how to cook crabs?

When we become a nation of ppll that don't need the Federal Government to tell us how to cook crabs then we will be back on our feet in my opinion.

There's a very simple and accurate answer to this question. In the governments eyes we are ALL WAY too stupid to take care of ourselves.

Most of those books were published in the 50's. I have copies of series 1-8, all dated 1958. Scan the publication date on that one if you don't mind, and what point is it supposed to support?

Now, now, don't you go talking sense like that! The way you talk, it could be something as innocuous as a collection of recipes!

Here's a link to the publication in question: http://spo.nwr.noaa.gov/Test%20Kitchen/testkitchen10.pdf

The g'ment isn't demanding one cook crabs in the manner put forth in the pamphlet.
Anyone can cook them as they see fit.
How many of the respondents to this thread have actually cooked crabs?

Yup, I really like crab, 'specially blue crab.
Mother would take us kids and some neighborhood friends down to the Jersey shore to catch crabs. I dunno how she knew how long to cook them. Perhaps she read the g'ment pamphlet since it was published about that time.
