More Government Regulation.....
In a story today in the LA Times it is reported that while public nudity is legal in San Francisco the city of SF is considering a law that would require nudist to 'cover up' in cafes and such.
First, I did not know that nudity was legal in SF. Can anyone comment on if this is common? Second.... Well, there is no second. Sometime a little regulation is a good thing. |

Businesses have the right to refuse service to anyone they wish so regulation really isn't necessary in this case. "No Shirt, No Shoes, No Service". The exception is disabled people.
Public nudity is something that a government should regulate, obviously. I'd hate to be eating at a sidewalk cafe and lose my lunch when Chris Cristie comes walking by in a rainbow thong bikini bottom. (sorry for the mental image)

The problem with legal public nudity is that it's generally only practiced by the people you wish wouldn't.

On the other hand....
If someone as out of shape as myself walked into a place I am sure I could quickly get a table. If the place were not empty when I got there it would be shortly after I arrived. |

This is a perfect example of why local communities should regulate local behavior. I don't give a damn if folks in SF want to see each others' junk. It merely reaffirms my sentiment about SF.

Oh tell me that we haven't all seen things in public that has emotionally scarred us more than a naked Jerry Garcia look alike.
