Stupid Ebay!!!!!

I purchased a set of euros over a month ago and have had problems ever since. The seller never shipped them until about two weeks ago and only responded to my messages and shipped the lights after I contacted ebay and opened a case. According to USPS my work address was "undeliverable" and they told me I couldn't pick it up at the post office that they were going to send the lights back to the seller and that was that. I then contacted the seller to please send them back out when they got them to my home address and to let me know the shipping costs and I would paypal them the money. I never got a response til today because I sent ebay a message yesterday. It was a smart *** response too. Well tonight I got an email stating from ebay that the case was close and they ruled in the sellers favor so I will be out the $100. I am appealing the case and I hope I win but I don't know how its going to turn out. It just really urks me that this happened. I have been more than nice to the seller and I get shafted. I've been a member for almost 10 years and have never had a problem and no one has had a problem with me. I hope it goes well. Just had to tell you guys to stay away from seller "W126300SD". I realluy hope they are not a member here.

I haven't dealt with ebay in awhile but by any chance is your paypal/ebay account hooked up to a CC? Maybe an American Express?

If that's the case I think you have recourse, charge back. Let ebay play their little games.

I'm not convinced that e-bay was the sole "stupid" party in this transaction.

USPS probably tried to tried to fit the box in the mail slot and when it didn't fit they considered it undeliverable.

they must be changing the rules again, it used to be they did not accept USPS as a proof of delivery. the seller obviously has no proof it was delivered so they should not have closed the case.......

They leave a slip at the door and you then pick it up at the post office.

They do not return it to the sender for approx. three weeks.

Hmm. I called them and they would not let me pick it.

When will you people learn NOT to us USPS? I stopped doing that already. When I send it USPS, I guarantee NOTHING. Someone sent me a book that was way overdue and they had to refund me the money. About a month later, it appeared.

As far as I am concerned, if I sell you something and you want USPS, it is on YOUR head if it doesn't deliver.

How are we defining "smart azz"? The only answer I would have given you if you did specify USPS is "You chose USPS because you wanted cheap. Sorry".

I did not specify. Shipping was free. I always ship out Fedex myself because its cheaper than UPS and I can track it. I called usps today and they cant tell me anything. They dont know where the package is or where its going or what address is on the package to be dropped off. I asked the seller that when they got the package back if they could please send it out UPS or FEDEX only. Of course, I never got a response.

you need to work the money side, thats the only thing he will understand, if you cant pull back or block the money, your at his mercy

I usually offer to pay the difference if I care about the item. If it is a book that I don't care if I receive within say 2 months, fine.

ditto,
USPS wont let you pick it up--and you had a tracking # ??????
In the only way thats not possible is if it had been forwarded to a next station and would have come BACK to Your post office---and YES you do have to be PROACTIVE with the post MASTER sometimes at your branch because the underlings dont care. That said,
Finally --a seller got some protection from ebay for a change-instead of getting screwed which is the way it almost goes.
Yes a US mail tracking # is proof--if seller gets a sign for delivery conformation.
No using US mail is not being a cheapscate---its often what makes a deal or not on ebay---in this enviornment $5 "predatory" over charge will cause the potential buyer to keep browsing.

Another tip for sellers or ebay buyers using a po box----make sure your Name is on the box tag for the dimbulb postal worker---but just as sure --make sure your ebay seller name is also on that tag or stuff will repeatedly get sent back---The postal worker has to because of identity theft/security issues---I got to go check on my 1912 GMC ornament that got forwarded and is coming back. Today

The first yr of gmc trucks was 1912----Happy birthday

Yes, that's a stinky deal.

A suggestion for you though. I bought a set of wheels for my daughter once and they never shipped them. The guy flew the coop.

I was trying to file a claim with EBay or PayPal I don't remember which. On the form it asked if I had filed with my credit card company. I filed with American Express and got ALL of my money back.

Even Master Card or Visa will give you protection in such a case I think. I don't know because I only use American Express.

Anyway, next time buy with a credit card if you have one available and it will be much better protection than Ebay will ever offer.

Hope this helps.

Agreed, USPS is crap. Last month I ordered a nice ring for my gf for our 5 year anniversary. Nice thing with a huge topaz gem in the middle surrounded in diamonds. Shipped USPS with confirmation delivery (signed). After 2 weeks it never arrived at the sorting facility in NYC. I called up USPS and opened a claim. They told me it was the vendor's fault, and the vendor assured me they shipped the piece (small place). I went back to the vendor who took care of me and sent a new one out via UPS. Strangely, about 5 hours after I opened the claim, the package mysteriously showed up at my local post office (tracking info completely devoid of information until just that point). Funny how that works... Anyways I will NEVER ship by USPS again. This one was too much of a close call. Anyways she was happy in the end  I actually have 2 rings now (the one from USPS was damaged, go figure) and I haven't had the chance to send it back yet.
