My 190D Going to auction tomorrow, On live TV

Tune in tomorrow night on the Velocity channel for live coverage of the Mecum auction in Kansas city. I go across the block around 8:15, hopefully not during commercials. Its going at no Reserve, so I will be sweating it out a bit.

Shall we do our own fantasy bidding? I'll send a dollar to whoever comes closest.

1966 Mercedes-Benz 190 DC 4-Door for sale by Mecum Auction

$1840 if it has rust not seen in the pictures, $1199 if lots of it; $2880 if no rust.

Pics do not show enough of the car to give an accurate valuation.

Last car I sold at one of these was a 1984 500sl with 80k miles for $13500.

MTU are those numbers missing a zero? Goodness I paid much more for it. It's as rust free as an unrestored southern example can be. No rot as they would say.

X2 Good luck with the auction.

May your final bid be in INVERSE proportion to the 0-60 time.

All kidding aside, that sure is a nice example of a W110, and well optioned as well.

Good luck! I'd guess about 6,000 but the auction block can bring some surprises!

I fantasy bid 12k, to a German buyer. These cars are in great demand in Germany, esp. a non molested example like this.

180,000 miles. I cannot list mileage with the auction without complete documentation. It has a 200D motor in it, so it is not a full original survivor car. Nice improvement though over the 190D motor, but is not "numbers matching". I can't tell the difference externally between the 2 motors.

8:15 is central time is the estimated run time. They tend to get behind a bit.

It does have a complete ownership history and some big service records. Since the ownership history isn't documented with copies of the old titles, I couldn't advertise that either.

If you don't get the velocity channel you can watch on the live auction feed online.

Those buyers are big on the documentation and the history. Might not quite make the $9500. but I wish you all the best with it, Tyler.
