I think he did a great job replacing McClain Stevenson on the M.A.S.H. T.V. show in the 70's and 80's.

I had the pleasure of meeting him when I worked in a mall in LA in the 80s. He struck me as a genuinely nice person.
I loved him in MASH.

Ben Alexander played Detective Frank Gannon before Harry Morgan took over the roll in 1967.
Us old timers remember Harry as a supporting actor in many movies from 1942 on. He was also on TV in December Bride and Pete and Gladys. It always seemed to me that he never aged!He was loved by all who knew him and will be greatly missed.
