I don't think it is funny
What year model SEC is the FRONT bumper on there?
I need one. I will pay $900 right NOW if it is a true 1986-1991 european coupe bumper without the little headlight washers on it, and if it is in very good to mint condition and all mounting hardware is included.. It is his car, and he can do whatever he wants to it. But only an idiot or someone in the last stages of tertiary brain syphilis will expect a 500SEC buyer to have HIS OWN exact personal taste in over the top custom modifications for such a car and then pay full market price for what an unmolested unmodified stock vehicle in good condition would bring..

Reasons I would pay $900 bucks for a good 1986 SEC front bumper.
Yes, almost 100% likely a 1982 to 1985 Generation I coupe because the gray market was basically killed at the end of the 1985 model year by the combination of the 560 engine that Mercedes Benz brought out, to quell the flamor of US customers for a faster US engine, the power of Mercedes benze of North America's corporate lobbyists acting to drive the over 50% of new Mercedes benz customers that were buying gray market Mercedes Benz automobiles instead of new pollution control choked, expensive new cars off the US dealers floors.
The final nail in the coffin of the US gray market for new Mercedes Benzes was the change in the value of the Deutschmark relative to the US dollar which occurred at the very end of 1985. The savings factor was wiped out and with it the major financiao impetus to import one.. Rich people *also* pay attention to money, obviously. The astronomical savings to customers, after even the full DOT/EPA savings were factored in, were just irresistable. You could roll a brand new fully loaded 500SEC of a dealer's showroom in Germany for the Deutschmark equivalent of $40,000. I know someone who did, and got it converted, AND had a full boat AMG EVERYTHING added for another $30,000. For that $70,000 he got a brand new AMG euro 1984 500SEC California plated car on the road. I know the car, because my boss wanted it in Aspen for his XMAS skiing vacation, in 1985 and he asked me to take it from San Francisco to Denver. I did, and it fueled my desire to own one. 11 years later I got my own 560SEC from a Mercedes Benz dealer in LA, and it is seen in the signature picture below. It has been sensational and I still drive it today!
