Alec Baldwin rages out

Baldwin apologizes to passengers, not airline - Boston.com

If 'ya can't put the cell phone down without getting violent, you're an addict. That's all I'm saying.

Not out of character for this guy. He raged against Dubya and said if he was re-elected, he would move out of the US (he didn't). There was also the recording of him calling his daughter all kinds of nasty names. He needs to grow up and stop thinking he hung the moon.

I generally enjoy his acting. He can play people with compromised morals splendidly. Too bad he needs to grow up.

However, car salesman at uber high line dealers of Mercedes Benz, Rolls Royce, Bentley, Maserati, Porsche and Lamborghini are taught ALWAYS to be very polite and deferential to customers that look sloppily, or badly or very causally dressed, and just wander in, without an appointment, anywhere from Beverly Hills to Encino, because as often or notm they are HUGE figures in the business and are cash or impulsive buyers, or both, and will go nab a new mega expensive car like buying a can of coca cola.)

It's not just show business, there's no shortage in the general public either.

Alec needs to loose the public transport thing and hook up with a private jet charter service. Then, he can text, play games and do whatever he wants in private. I'm afraid that as his outburst have become more public, his reputation has taken a hit. He could probably benefit from some therapy and some type of "calming" medication. His illness is known as "free floating hostility", something I see EVERYDAY from drivers.

It's all about ME, 'ya see.

Well its a silly rule that the FAA needs to updated. Cell phones and small personal electronics pose no risk of interfering with communications or avionics. If someone wanted to use something on board that could, it would have to make it through security and its pretty easy to sneak tapping on a phone past flight attendants.

I don't think there hasn't been a single substantiated case of interference from cell phones.

It is frustrating to comply with a rule that you know is pointless. I'm not justifying Baldwins behavoir, but for someone who travels a lot like myself, it is annoying.

It is bad enough being trapped inside those horrible flimsy aluminum cigar tubes without having to listen to everyone talking loudly into their cell phones and there being NO way to escape it.

Your personal "business" and chit chat ought to be able to WAIT
the length of an airline flight without blabbing all ihose miserable mobile phones -- I hate them. And I am not too amused by the perceived self-importance of the people that use them, everywhere, all the time all over the world.

It is a source of major irritation to me as well. If I have a call that I need to take in a public place I will put my head down and shield my mouth with my phone to avoid as much as possible the shouting on the phone syndrome or leave the table and go to a hallway if possible.

I eat lunch a lot at a local mom and pop restaurant and one of my buddies who is a very nice fellow but hard of hearing will take calls at the table and blithely shout at his phone......grrrrrr.
