Candidates & the New Electorate
We are seeing an interesting social shift in the US. Voters views on certain social issues have swung pretty far since being a white, married, male, Protestant was a requirement for national office.
There's a chance that the GOP choices may narrow down to a multi divorced Catholic and a long time married follower of the Latter Day Saints. Polling seems to indicate that GOP voters are less concerned about Gingrich's divorces and affair, his insider - big government background, than Romney's flip flops and religious ties. It would seem that the GOP, who used to be able to voice a unified agenda has to adjust to where their party members hearts and minds are. |

A schism between establishment Repos and the great unwashed conservatives who have found establishment Republicans little different from establishment Democrats. Different swine, same trough.
