Dr. Ron Paul Waffles on Third Party Run
Back in November, Ron Paul stated he would not run as a third party candidate if his run for the GOP nomination failed Paul Rules Out 3rd Party Run
But now, the news is that he has not ruled out what he ruled out . . Not ruling anything in, or anything out |

This is about the scariest thing I've read in months. Without Ron Paul on a third party ticket there is a slim, ghost of a chance of unseating B.O. A third party run ABSOLUTELY GUARANTEES B.O. a second term. How could Ron Paul sleep at night?

With the announcement that he won't be seeking re-election, it could be that the threat of a third party challenge (logistically difficult and expensive to get on all ballots) could be his last chance for "a seat at the table" when endorsement, party policy or cabinet appointments are being discussed.

This is definitely plausible. I hope that's all there is to it.

Yippie Skippy! I've already got my Draft Paul bumper sticker. It'll replace my "Palin, PLEASE" sticker.

Isn't that the same answer "no intent" "not thinking about it". In any case, I hope he does, he said the same things about running for president at all. But then watch all the conservatives in sheep's clothing say, he split the vote rather than simply not vote for the status quo, even though they've been given a real candidate for once, which is all they ***** about pretty much 24 hours out of the day.

I think there are some people here who do not know the difference between a conservative and a Libertarian. Ron Paul is CLEARLY a Libertarion, not a conservative. I would find Ron Paul EXTREMELY preferable to the White House occupant that we are currently stuck with. The problem is that he knows and EVERYONE knows that he could never get elected in a million years, Republican, Independent OR Libertarian.

That bumper sticker would indeed allow you to do your share in ENSURING that B.O. gets a second term.

Here's the rub . . . if this country had more political parties, it would provide the opportunity for more debate, more citizen involvement and the need for cross party cooperation . . . which is likely why we won't have it anytime soon.

I hope he has the same impact as Perot had. The result was a Demo in the presidency and congress controlled by the Repos. This prevented either party from implementing their most cherished Big Gov expansion and forced the gov to a balanced budget.
No downside. Run Ron, Run! |

As a typical Dem voter, I know I'd vote for Paul over BO. Wouldn't dream of voting for any of the other Rep clowns. Most of my contemporaries feel the same way.

I thought about Paul pretty seriously in the last election. I like much about his platform. Sadly he veers WAY off the libertarian course in my opinion with his religiously based opinions on some matters and his unabashed pandering to the religious right. I don't know any dems who'd vote for him.

Wow TBO, that's a sad statement to be aimed toward the dems!
