Not bad for a bunch of frat rats. I like Ladysmith Black Mombaza's version better, especially the one with The Mint Juleps. It's on YouTube also but I don't have time to link it.
Aside: on the Tokens' album photo, is that Drew Cary at center top?

I heard one of the singers for the Tokens in a radio interview just yesterday. He said a guy in his High School asked him to come over after school one day and try out--an audition. He passed and they formed the group. The guy who ran the audition was Niel Sedaka, so it predates Drew Carey, I think.
The Tokens were also the first pop group to produce their own records, and produce records for others. I think he said that The Chiffons' "He's so fine" was their first production.

I taught my two nieces to sing the 'weem-a-way' part and I'd sing the lead and do guitar at family gatherings, this when they were about 8 to 10. Great fun, was a big hit or at least everyone acted like it was, close enough.

Well, you can't do better than the original, Solomon Linda, who composed it as well.

Oh man, that was a moment that got away.

At any rate, I've yet to get any music on video, maybe someday.

Sound judgment wins out over family memories.
