Fox eats it's own

While Rick Santorum and I aren't exactly exchanging holiday cards, I found this incident to be so below the belt that I almost hope that Rick wins a few primaries...almost...

I'd put Santorum's behavior in that instance in the category of 'pretty damn bizarre' if not 'crazy'.

I think Colmes is an idiot but I do remember hearing about the Santorum baby story and thinking 'how incredibly weird'. Who the hell brings a dead body home? To each their own I guess, (the body was technically his) but I am with Colmes on this one. Totally weird. Not sure what that says about Santorums mentality. I already think he is nuts on numerous issues.

What exactly has Colmes done wrong here? Told the truth? If Santorum did that kind of crazy, morbid, sick act, the public needs to know about it.

The public knows about it because, apparently, Santorum has told people about it. If you found you had the psychological need to do such a thing, would you talk about it in public? It leads me to suspect that it was in fact a political act on his part, intended to reinforce his credentials as an anti-abortion politician.

People deal with the death of a child in different ways. Was his way odd? Yes, but no less odd than building a living memorial for the child in the home in such a manner that there's no peace, no getting past the death. I've seen people have candles lit daily for the child and a very large picture of the child on the wall in the home. Like I said...different ways.

Yeah, whatever. Bringing a dead body home so it can be passed around is not normal. It is the act of a freak. Santorum is a religious fascist and a kook extremist, and this is just more evidence of it.

I'm with jplinville on this one. It's none of our business and has nothing to do with his fitness for office.

I am troubled by the roadside memorials some families put at fatal accident scenes. On one hand, they serve a purpose by reminding drivers to be careful, but I am not sure it's how the deceased would want to be remembered.

If ever there was a place to say "to each his own," it's this. IMHO.

I think it says a lot about his fitness for office. Crazy people make bad leaders, just ask the Germans.

You have an odd way of labeling anyone that doesn't agree with you or that you don't agree with, an extremist, facist, kook, etc...Why is that?

While I have a feeling that you're a decent guy in real life, your online persona is more than a bit extreme...far, far extreme.

Those bother me as well...I used to feel sorry for the departed's family, but now I tend to ignore them and move on.

I have a hard time judging someone I don't know about how he responds to that sort of tragedy. There are plenty of other reasons to doubt Santorum's fitness for office. I'm not sure this is one of them.

Forcing women to bear children they do not want under penalty of law is fascism. Taking a dead kid home to show the other kids in the house, and then sleep with the dead kid over night, is the act of a kook. I just call things what they are. I know it hurts, I'm full of compassion for you and stuff.

I think it shows a guy who really is either unable or unwilling to consider what kind of effect this display would have on his other children. To me, it is a weird and extreme act, and confirms my opinion that he is an extremist.

I think it shows the utterly sad state of the US right now. Santorum tried to have the teaching of "Creationism" legalized when he was a senator. In other words, a guy who has a shot at being the president of the United States, thinks the earth was magically created by a guy with a beard, 6,000 years ago and that Noah pranced about with dinosaurs and sabre toothed cats while he prepped them for a boat ride. In this modern age, where technological superiority translates into prosperity and knowledge is the new currency, it is amazing that this country is even considering idiots like this to be it's leader. The fact one of the two major parties is putting forth a platoon of these idiots is a sign of our decline as a great power, we are descending into Moronism.
