How much do you pay for internet/cable/phone?

I think I am getting ripped off. I pay AT&T $156/mo for dsl internet and Direct TV and basic (not long distance) phone.

Are there better alternatives out there?

I would say that is high. Get a magic jack and fire them from your phone.

$75/mo for Internet and phone from Verizon. Basic cable is included in my condo charges, so I have no idea what the cable costs.

Full package DirecTV , phone and internet is running me about $200 a month. I can lower them by dropping many channels, and gong to a lighter package, but I haven't yet.

Too much. I have Verizon Fios internet service and cable HD TV, which costs me about $100 a month. I got rid of my landline and use only a cell phone now. My I Phone service from AT&T is about $60 a month. I'm self-employed, so my cell phone is also my business phone.

$50 a month for internet (highest speed Comcast offers) + basic TV (which we keep for Ed). Does require that I call Comcast every 6 months and threaten to leave unless they find me another $50/month intro package.... they always do, and I'm good for another 6 months.

$40/month for Darling Wife's phone (1200 minutes + unlimited data & text), $25/month for mine (300 minutes + unlimited data & text). Both using Virgin Mobile, no contracts.

Haha yeah, I have to do this with Verizon annually. I'd actually drop their service and go with Time Warner (faster speed), but I don't want to deal with porting my landline number, which is also a business number.

Vonage phone-call Canada and many places in Europe,no long distance fees
$30 a month

Direct TV Choice Extra package 1 HD DVR and two HD boxes $68 a month
(I get a discount because I referred a friend and they gave me some freebies when I called them wheel and deal which they do)

Time Warner high speed internet $54 a month...too high but I don't have another choice where I live.

Wall Mart Straight Talk cell phone, unlimited calling, texting and web, 3G service, $45 a month but I had to pay $155 for the phone, Samsung Galaxy

You could get an AT&T microcell if you really wanted. But land lines sound better than cellular or VoIP crap, IMHO.

Broadcast HDTV FREE, 37 or so channels, antenna on a pole. Watch a little every day, plays in the background more. Zap2it.com for free tv guide listing.

Net 10 sucks but it is only $15/mo. We don't chat on phones. Free beeper through job/business arrangement. Return calls from landline at work when possible. Voicemail number < $15/mo. Using Skype more as time goes on.

They just went up to $20/mo for DSL. I said cancel it, probably won't bother.

We make a game of spending as little as possible with big corps. The bigger they are, the less likely we are to spend.

Local theatre has $5 admission from 4-6pm or so. Tuesdays are $1 coke and popcorn.

If it involves sitting on your butt, avoid it like it is killling you, it is - electronic equivalent of junk food.

Alternative suppliers for your area? If there are none you might be up the proverbial creek.

My wife just calls in and states she cannot afford to pay that much and might have to disconnect services. Gets a 60.00 a month reduction usually. The last itime she called up and the discount is still in effect. She told them we switched suppliers to save money . Now their costs are higher than who we moved from. That got her the 60.00 off a month once again for a year. So we pay about 100.00 a month over the usual 160.00 in our area. Phone cable and internet.

Here in Holland (yeah well it gives perspective perhaps?) the going rate is about 50 euros a month for an all in package with basic TV, medium fast internet and telephone - "all in one".

You have to pay extra for fast fast internet, films, TV on demand, porn etc etc. Several of these packages have a 10 euro per month extra option for "free" calls to all landlines in the country... I'm waiting for the "free" international option!
