Yep. I'm the other 99% for sure.

What a waste. Evil even.

Tiger must be laughing at that bint's stupidity. No wonder he cheated on her: he probably vomited whenever he had to listen to her flap her yaphole.

Since she doesn't live there presently, has she effectively lowered her property tax rate?

That track hoe operator must have been sick when he did it.

She could have done the same by selling the place! Who wants to bet that she'll burn through the $100M inside of 10 years and die forgotten, drinking herself to death while working as a desk clerk in a rent-by-the-hour motel?

You guys are just jealous because you guys don't work hard, are lazy, want everything handed out to you on a platter and don't belong to the 1%.

She's the ultimate American dream: from nanny to multi millionaire: god bless her.

I would love to talk to some of the finish carpenters who worked on that house. Just saying 'oh, you got paid, what do you care' is just not sufficient.

In her world, it could make excellent sense. She wants what she wants. In the realm of resource scarcity, it's on the edge of appalling. I've built houses like that. God only knows how much mahogany was in that house. Stuff is getting rarer all the time. If monstrosities like that are going to be built, at least the economy is served if they actually house people. It doesn't say if anything was salvaged - doors, windows and cabinets could removed quickly enough. But any sort of salvage takes time and wouldn't yield that much $$ compared to the sums being spent. Likely as not a lot of it is added to any of the many landfills in our nation that are just yearning for more business.

OTOH, this CSM piece says they were going to renovate but changed their minds. Some of that stuff isn't built all that well. Little better than a movie set prop. We did some remodels of houses in a semi-exclusive golf course community near Half Moon Bay. One house in an excellent spot by one green was nice enough from a distance but just cheap inside. The kitchen was tract house quality.

Built in 1932. Doubt it was cheaply made.
Sad. A total disrespect for things. If you didn't like it and were going to raze it, why buy it? For the lot? She'll spend double the $12M on a new one. Doesn't matter if she's loaded (child support will probably be enough to finance this project), it's bad.

I missed the 1932 part. Good lumber, a better era for quality, probably was a good house. God only knows what sort of remodel might have been done prior to the sale.

Bottom line, she could have looked a little harder for an appropriate tear down.

You can do a lot with a retrofit.
