Ya, Ya, We're gona move those rats

Evidently Washington DC is filled with a lot of two and even more four legged rats. The two legged powers that be wish the four legged critters gone. Rats are not nice to mess with! They are horrible. I know, I grew up on the farm and farms were infested with rats- big gray nasty rats. Rats were everywhere Anyway, in DC, seems they want the rats gone, but they don't want to hurt them. So they are going to hunt them up and capture them and move them in "family", (ya, like "that's my mom over there")groups and move them to a wildlife preserve in Virginia. Knowing rats like I do, I would say they will breed faster then they can catch them.

If I didn't have family there, I'd have suggested a "Manhattan solution" to get rid of both types of rats for good. The New Mexican type of Manhattan solution, not the New York type, of course.

JunqueyardJim passes us another right wing disinformation hoax.

Here is a copy of the DC ordinance:

http://cnsnews.com/sites/default/files/documents/Wildlife%20Protection%20Act%20of%202010.pdf

Quote:
(5) “Wildlife” shall include any free-roaming animal but shall not include
(A) Domestic animals;
(B) Commensal rodents;
(C) Invertebrates; and
(D) Fish.
Note item 5, rats are excluded.

Why do people fall for these lies so easily? The CNS news article I linked the above PDF from was asserting the opposite of what the law clearly says as well. Has the right wing in this country gone mad?

YGBSM. Seriously, they're actually going to try to capture and relocate rats? Since when in hell did rats become an endangered species worthy of preservation? They're effin RATS, for gawds sake, millions if not billions of the bloody things on this planet.

Last I heard, D-CON was still pretty darned effective.

Now, if it's lobbyists we're talking about.... then the jumbo-sized container of D-CON is called for, mixed in with their coffee aka Lilly Tomlin-style.

No, IANSY. But I bet the state of VA will sue DC when the first moving van arrives.

We used to go out to the old dump when I was a kid and spotlight rats. You sit in the back of the old F100 in the dark for a few minutes to let the rats come back out and go about their night time business then get your 22 or 410 cocked and somebody hits the spotlight on. You got about 20 seconds of the best shooting there is before they disappear. Have a few pulls off the Presidente bottle to keep warm while you wait in the dark, then repeat till you're out of ammo, or Presidente. Now the dump's all covered up and sanitary. phhhhssst....

OHHHH. that was fun. We used to get them, (the rats) in the pig barn. Man we had that nice little repeater 22 and we would sit on the rail in the front of the barn. Sit there quiet for a couple of minutes and it was great shooting, especially if a couple kids held flash lights. I wonder why we didn't turn on the lights. That was rural NW Iowa in the late 1940's and farms did not have electricity yet. The only electric appliance the farm might have had was a battery powered radio. I wonder how long it is going to take for these rat abatement people in DC to recognize that with the street smarts of the Norway Rat, and it's ability to live under concrete floor, in the sewers and every other conceivable bit of space, plus the ability to make about 10,000 descendants in a year or two, that they have an impossible job.

It states "Commensal Rodents". Read up on the subject...They are listed as Roof Rat, House Mouse and the Norway rat.

VA AG Fears DC Law May Relocate Rat 'Families' to Virginia | CNSnews.com

Quote:
Brian Gottstein, communications director for Attorney General Cuccinelli, said, “While certain commensal rodents are exempted from the law, the rice rat and the deer mouse are species that wildlife control experts note are within the District that are NOT defined as commensal rodents, so they would appear not to be exempt from the law.” “In addition to these particular rats and mice, raccoons, squirrels, skunks and other animals known to carry rabies, Lyme disease, and other diseases are not exempt from the law,” said Gottstein.

The Norway rat is the common rat, genius boy. A commensal animal is any wild animal that lives in conjunction with humans. You amaze me in the lengths you will go through to make what is a false story somehow true. Again, just more right wing hoax. Again, we have propaganda trying to convey a lie, that the left wing enviromental weenies have gone nuts and want us all to be lovey dovey with rats. And again, you want to believe it so bad you incorporate it into your belief system without question. Brent Bozells' CNS "news" service, as mentioned on another thread, is a toilet. He pushes lies as truth, the man is simply a liar. If that who want you want to tell you how to think, well that explains a lot.

Looks like all the experts agree that they are Commensal Rodents.

Yeah, you are just telling the truth, right? That leftists want common rats treated all touch feely and stuff. A commensal rodent is any rodent that lives in close proximity to humans, and that is the truth. And you can play your stupid hair splitting game all day, with the aim of somehow making a lie true, but it's still a lie. The idea that anyone wants to make the common rat some sort of protected species is a God damned lie, spread by God damned liars. And it is in the ordinance, in black and white, and you want to say something that is there, is not there. How many fingers am I holding up, Wilson?

JR, I knew you would be upset. You are just afraid that all your relatives could be moved out Virginia.
