Shop at Trader Joe's?

You might find this interesting. Looks like Mickey D's might have more conscience than the uber hip TJ's.

Shopped there a bit to see what it was about but there was nothing spectacular about it. If I was really concerned, I'd send them money myself and not bother with a 3rd party. TJ's is a BUSINESS so I don't expect them to conduct themselves as a charity organization. As a shareholder, I'd expect them to do what it takes to fleece those who care by signing up. As a shopper, WGAS. If they have what I want, I do business with them. If not, I could care less.

Sounds like you have a good grasp on how free enterprise is supposed to work.

Nope, totally different chain. But same idea -- good quality food at prices that are reasonable for the area.

I shop there sometimes. They have stuff the other stores don't. Of course, they also lack some things the other stores have. As for the wages of agricultural workers, I think I went over that in the thread about the Alabama immigration law.

My grasp is this. I am smart enough to send someone a check if I so desire. I don't need someone else to do it for me. It might be a great cause but not one I support too. Let ME make my own choices. Your job is to sell me food so concentrate on that.
