Anyone collect beer signs?

I have an old Schlitz beer sign. Form 540D from 1964 (I think, might be 1954). Its HUGE. About six feet long, two feet wide. Pillow face and backlit with fluorescent tubes. Best part is that its band new in box. Was my grandfather's who passed away some time ago.

I have had a heck of a time trying to nail a value on it. It came direct from Schlitz yet they have no record. Really the beer has been brought back in name only.

The thing could be worth $100 or $5,000.00, I have no clue. Anyone collect or know someone who does? I am trying to contact the person I have storing it so I can get some pics.

Shlitz at one time was a very good local beer around the Philly area. Might be some love there.

I collect Beer signs and neons. You sign is probably worth about $2500 because of the excellent condition. Pics PLEASE.

Based on size alone it would be worth several hundred. I see the smaller globes (lit) sell for $100.

Big signs are a tough sale because they require a big wall, and a big lover of schlitz beer

I will try to get pics. And exact measurements. By the way, its designed to lay against a window. Has four small rubber stops on arms that face the front. I dont think most bars have windows big enough for this thing.

It even has window decals and some other stuff in box.

Be careful, he's lowballing you.

They did indeed revert to the 60's recipe on the new Schlitz and in bottles, for fizzy yellow beer, it's pretty tasty.

i got my schlitz sign at my girlfriends house.the previous owner left it in the attic.funny thing i had the sign before i started drinking the beer.as for price thats iffy.if it was a 6ft neon then you could be talking some serious money, but back lit with flo tubes hard to say.guess it's worth what someone is willing to pay for it

I don't have any idea what yours would be worth, sorry.
In college (early '80s) I worked for two different beer distributors and amassed quite a collection. I probably have close to 20 (only two true neons) that are currently stored. Everything from small, edge-lit table clocks to 4' long store price boards. Those were the days. I had about 10 of them up in my dorm room. I'm working on plans for a man cave and hope to resurrect the lights some day.

Sweet! Got ahold of the guy. He must be crazy busy. I was getting paranoid that maybe he sold it on me! Not something I would ever think he would do, but ya never know!

Anyway, Saturday I will get some pics and measurements on it and post em here. Serious about selling but also serious about finding a selling price for it. I still cant find any info on this thing anywhere!
