I'm reading the book with that title. It's an account of the CIA's overthrowing on the democratically elected president of Guatemala in 1954. Very thorough and well researched account. I was surprised to find E Howard Hunt amongst the conspirators. What has impressed me the most about the event so far is the degree to which the whole event was made possible by the control of information. The control of information about the conditions in Guatemala by the United Fruit Company and the control of information available to Arbenz once the CIA began the coup attempt. The battle was won, not with guns but with the media.
