Dodge is bringing back the Dart name, but like this thread . . . not your father's Dodge Dart.

That car doesn't deserve the "Dart" name. btw I had a 74 Dart, brown w/beige vinyl top.

New Dart looks like a new Neon. Not a fan nor deserving of "Dart". The aluminum DSG Alfa combo would be interesting though.

I had a '63. So far the new one isn't impressing me.

I learned to drive on a '74 Dart coupe.

I think they were some of the most intelligent cars Detroit produced back in the old days. Decent interior space versus overall size, no ridiculous styling, reliable overall and the slant-six was a classic powerplant.

Plus they could be had anywhere from taxi spec up to those late ones with the luxury interiors (Brougham, were they called?) and the available 318. When I was a teenager we all wanted one of the fastback ones with the stripes and the bucket seats.

Very true. I hope the folks onshore made it a bit more robust as well as more attractive, for its NA-spec. I don't think Alfas have had the best rep in Europe, of late.

However, continuing the subject of good looks, have you seen the new Fusion?

Ford did an Aston-Martin lite on the front end and softened the lines. Really nice looking car.

I had a 74 Valiant and a 71 Dart. Both with the slant 6... incredibly tough engine.

Buddy of mine had the Demon version of the Dart. Still had the 225 engine though, so he wasn't quite as cool as he could have been...

I had a Caliber for a rental a while back. Bad doesn't begin to describe it.
