Santorum just keeps 'em coming...

Santorum: ‘I would overturn’ any Supreme Court ruling same-sex marriage legal | The Raw Story

I don't think this guy understands how our checks and balances work...

davidmash 02-12-2012 10:33 PM

Perhaps he should look up the term "amendment".

jplinville 02-12-2012 10:42 PM

He's weak sauce...not even a real blip on the radar.

Skippy 02-13-2012 12:13 AM

I concluded he was an idiot about five minutes into the first presidential debate I watched. If it came down to him vs Barry, I think I'd go third party.

raymr 02-13-2012 12:26 AM

He's the current darling of the conservative right. I think most of America will see him as a nutjob though, especially once the dems put him through the media wringer.

And how does a President overturn a Supreme Court ruling? Ricky is letting us all know that if he wins he will turn America into Iran or Saudi Arabia. Enjoy living in a religious dictatorship? Vote Santorum.

Yeah, I realize that doing the right thing drives you libs crazy.

Be careful with defending " just do the right thing". The PROCESS is important. Even "doing the right thing" must be done in the right way, following all the right steps. Otherwise, when the President demands that he be empowered to "do the right thing" ( as he sees it) you have lost the argument to stop him.

Precisely. The process as outlined in COTUS does not empower the executive to overturn decisions rendered by judicial. Him stating that he would overturn the decision means he either does not know how our system of government works (hopefully this is the case) or he wants to change how it works (far more sinister)

Either way, he just continues to show how far out on the lunatic fringe he really is. and yet people keep voting for him in the caucuses.... inconceivable...

I just hope that he and Romney and The Newtster pound each other down and leave the door open for Paul.

Santo is actually leading in the most recent PPL poll...

Not that polls mean a damn thing, but it is fascinating to watch as the repubs flounder

MTUpower 02-13-2012 09:04 AM

The "conservatives" and the far religious right will lose the election for the Republican party. It's too bad they cannot come up with a centrist candidate.

elchivito 02-13-2012 09:12 AM

Determining constitutionality of amendments is "not the role of the judiciary". WTF?
Slept through civics I'll betcha.

kerry 02-13-2012 09:47 AM

He has a BA in Political Science so ignorance can't really be his excuse.

davidmash 02-13-2012 09:52 AM

Perhaps he slept through a class or two .... or three ... or..

kerry 02-13-2012 10:40 AM

Looks like his real problem with same sex marriage is that there's either no women to be forced to stay at home, or two women who have to stay at home so there's no wage earner:
