Yup! A buddy of mine lives about 6 blocks from where they detonated the grenades...he said that he could hear them, and that they ground where it was done had a heck of a crater in it. I don't know if it was due to the force of the grenade explosion, or the explosion used to destroy the grenades, but he said the crater was fairly significant.

I was already on the road back home when they were realized then detonated...I missed all the fun.

Still, the thought that my wife was that close to them is a bit bothersome. While her life insurance policy is up to date, and has a rather high payout, I'd rather keep her around for another 40-50 years.

Of course, with some cops, the more chances they take, the more chance they have to do the world a big favor!

Perhaps you believed the TV story, hook, line and sinker?

Perhaps, it should have occurred to you that the TV reporting was exaggerated for effect?

Perhaps, if the TV were to report on anything related to a machine shop, you would immediately recognize the exaggeration for effect.

But, because it is a topic for which you have no specific knowledge, you believe it at face value...........even though there is good reason for the media to "adjust" the truth.

I don't accept their exaggerated story.

They should be pretty safe as long as you don't bang them around.

I would have taken them out into a field and tried to light them off, would have been interesting.

When I was a kid we had a cannonball with a detonator on it. It sat in the back yard behind a big tree for years. Some alarmist eventually saw it and called authorities who all agreed it was pretty cool. A collector ended up with it.

Things have changed. I tried to buy Boric Acid recently. What a PITA. You have all of the rights that are profitable to big money.

Boric Acid? Isn't that available as a roach repellant? A lot of much more "interesting" chemicals are NOT illegal to sell to the public, despite popular belief. Happy science fair...
