I'm not sure what the significance is. Has he ever claimed certainty about his atheism? No one was 100% sure that there wasn't a spacecraft hiding beyond Hale-Bopp but most people were quite happy to live their lives as if there wasn't.

He can't be sure God exists either and if it exists, who it is or what from it is. However, looking at the examples from the Christian text, IF it does exist, it would be still the same old guy who tried to hamstring mankind and still is by hiding himself/herself/itself to do the same mischief. And before someone says it, yes, I understand that the NT is "The New Deal" but still, same old guy. Ask St Paul, aka Saul who was nudged to "see" a different view.

I read it but I'd like to hear what YOU think happens to him on his little road trip to Damascus. I was thinking of drumming up a little business if I ran a body shop by going out and night and scratching people's cars.

My understanding is that he had a vision problem while on the road that was "fixed" when he saw things a different way. One could call that coercion. Looking at past patterns and the tower of babel, I have little hope that should this deity exist, it will not be as nice as the PR guy wants us to believe.
