They're both over 18, this should be a matter between her, him, and his family. Police investigation is out of line, IMHO. If she were 25 and he were 50, this wouldn't be worthy of comment.

Correct, if he was 50 and she WERE 25. Big difference between a 25 year old woman and a girl in high school, even if she is NOW 18. I doubt he waited until she turned 18 to come on to her.

A 41 year old man has SO much in common with an 18 year old girl after all.

You seriously see nothing wrong with a teacher in a high school picking up a student from the high school he teaches at, regardless of the fact that she is not currently in his class? What if every teacher was allowed to date students?

What if she were interested in HIM and came to him after she turned 18? The older person isn't always the initiator.

Let me explain. I was late 20s. She was mid 40s. I screwed it up due to unwillingness to keep an open mind and be straightforward, and I would give, anything, Anything, ANYTHING to make things right again. So my advice is to go with it if you're in love, regardless how small-minded ****ing simpletons in American society may look at it cross-eyed.

I was 18 she was 21. First year teacher.

The guy's family is now in shambles over his, "it is what I want that is important here, to h*** with my family" attitude. His offspring are emotionally traumatized by his actions, but, it appears he could care less because IT IS ALL ABOUT ME ME ME ME ME ME ME ME ME.

Big, big difference there from an 18 year old at the 41 year old teacher's school and a almost 30 year old man and a 40 year old woman.

If you had an 18 year old daughter, you would have no problem with a married 41 year old teacher at her school having sex with her?

Can't say I agree with you there. 30-40+ years ago, many people turned their head when a male teacher was preying on high school girls. Not so today. It turns into stories like this but I would go out on a limb to say it happened more in the past than it does today.

IF the relationship started today, you'd be right. Had you read, you'd have the article, you'd have seen what the mother's gripe was. Let me quote it for you to save you the time.

Are YOU allowed to date your students regardless of age? If you are a college professor and your student is 18, I thought some colleges frown on that??
