I check my report at least 4 times a year...after having my identity stolen a few years back and the havoc it caused to my credit, I'm leery of everything.

My latest report claims that and inquiry was made into my report by a company I have never heard of...Kash Carmen & Bach Mauricio, 120 Village Dr, DBA Diamond Electronics, Springboro, OH 45066-8106. I disputed it and it came back as valid, giving me two names, the company name and the physical address. I googled the names and found nothing. I googled the address and it shows up as a house in Springboro, Ohio...not far from where I visit monthly.

Instead of writing to this company name and telling them that the inquiry was not authorized, I'm tempted to knock on their door, hold up the dispute, and demand an answer as to what the heck is going on.

I don't have credit cards or debt to any revolving credit type of an account...those have been either paid off, or handled in court when my identity was stolen. I don't carry monthly payments on anything owned, only utilities, DirectTV and such through Verizon. My credit score is lower than it should/could be due to not carrying credit...

I haven't applied for employment anywhere in Ohio in well over 3 years, or for any loans. Why this inquiry is there baffles me.

Would my knocking on their door be out of the realm of normalcy? I want to confront face to face, instead of giving any possible personal information to anyone I don't know.

What should I do? What would you do?

BTW...with a little searching, I found a phone number associated with the company, and tried calling them, only to find that it's disconnected. I did a reverse search on that number and it's registered to a different name and address.

Was it a hard pull or a soft pull? Difference Between Soft Credit Check and Hard Credit Check

Soft pulls happen a lot. Hard pulls are a different story, and indicate somebody was applying for credit in your name.

Try Carmen Kash and Mauricio Bach. She's in Springboro. He works for an ad company, La Vanguardia?

Diamond electronics deals in satellite equipment. Any recent purchases for a dish?

Maybe a change in cell phone plan, or something?

Or -- not trying to connect dots that may not be connect-able -- but the credit pull wasn't related in timing to your neighbor dispute, was it? How far is Centerville/Springboro?

I wouldn't worry too much about a soft pull. They don't affect your score. It could even be a company trying to collect data in order to offer services in the future, maybe correlated to your address.

(Oh - and now all the peachpart pop-ups are my screen are credit-report related - I've got to delete some browser cookies...)

You say you are down that way every month. Could be a person trying to find out who you are. There are a lot of dirty tricks done by sticky beaks. they may have found your details from a license plate check done by a friend.

Why don't you just do a credit lock so no one can pull or apply for credit in your name?
