Terry Bozzio - Cairo - YouTube

warning:if you've ever played drums, this video could cause permanent damage...

Don't get me started on drummers...Bozzio is certainly very good but never a fan of his "acting" for the camera. I'm a drummer myself, let me post some of my favorites...will take a few mins

Edit: bot good lord what I'd gie for that drum set

being a ham is just part of being a performer.

watch at least part of the song, if nothing else than to see the ridiculous number of drums he plays, and he uses them all...not like some drummers

Thats the thing though, I see music that is performed by guys who tour and make so much out of so less because they have to, they don't have room for drums like that unless they're huge artists.

Animals as leaders with famed guitarist Tosin Abasi (probably closest to Bozzio's style)
Animals As Leaders - Cafo (2010) HD - YouTube
^^ that live
Animals As Leaders - CAFO [HD] LIVE - YouTube
Animals As Leaders - Isolated Incidents (Live) - YouTube

Case in point, one of my favorite drummers, even his is a huge set
Despised Icon - warm blooded Alexgrind - YouTube
Despised Icon - Bulletproof scales Alexgrind - YouTube
Despised Icon drummer MVP alexgrind - YouTube
Its heavy stuff and loud video, probably NSFW. Surgical precision and lightning fast speed.

And the Faceless...truly a band to be seen live, too bad he cut his hair for this he used to look like carrot top
The Faceless - Planetary Duality I & II/Shape Shifters/Coldly Calculated Design (Live In Montreal) - YouTube
The Faceless - Ancient Covenant - Drum cam - YouTube

btw these are bands (if you can swallow them) are the types that you can't "unsee"...basically they set the bar as far as technical talent in recent years.

I can appreciate that.
The guys I work with carry whatever they want, and they don't carry it either

Animals for leaders was pretty cool stuff, esp the first studio track.

All recorded ia home studio too Animals As Leaders / Weightless / RECORDING SESSIONS / Pt. 1 - YouTube These guys are one of my favorites, hands down. Very very talented young guys. Funny thing is I've seen them all play with different death metal bands over the years, now they're into this neat progressive jazz/metal sound

With a reasonably small budget of money and a large budget of patience, a home studio these days can sound as good as anything else.

Definitely, but IMO for the musicians to produce it themselves is even more impressive. I'm deep into music production (mostly electronic) and its not easy. For them to be both talented in their respective instruments AND able to produce an album transparent to those produced by multimillion dollar producers is incredible. I have a home studio myself and I can get close but no cigar... Plus nowhere near as good as those guys

No one will ever put forth more effort than a band recording, mixing and mastering their own music. Been down that road, and someday will build another studio, but for now, I like working with the live music.

live music is better, bumper stickers, should be issued

Neil Young - T-Bone - YouTube
