Things you hate to waste.

I hate to waste food. And it pisses me off when I see people wasting food.

Bullets

A great photographic moment.

Both are very true. It's my primary obstacle for shooting practice. Those wasted bullets.

Ever seen the cooking channel? That will teach you a lesson.
Not even mentioning the "all you can eat stuff it down your throat" contests.

I have to force myself to throw out stuff.
I once remodeled an entire 3 bedroom apartment with elements I had "in stock" from collective years. It was a riot. A work of art.

That's very philosophical. You'd have to catch it first, before you can waste it.
But if you fail to bring your camera ...

LaRondo 03-25-2012 10:32 PM

How about myself? I just can't waste myself anymore ... ;)

Even if you bring your camera, it might not be the correct lens, or the correct setting, exposure or metering, and before you know it, the fleeting moment is gone.

I've had my fair share :D

Had one of those moments last night.
I live in a high-rise, 11th storey. In order to have a smoke, I have to go to our laundry room and blow the smoke out the window.(wife hates the smoke)

So there I am, looking back on my busy day, not really paying attention, when I notice a flurry of actvity in a room on the 14th floor in the building across from me.

Windows are closed on this room, light is on, and I can see a persons shadow moving around quickly. Then, another window in the flat opens, and a young man leaps up on the ledge, straightens his body, standing straight up- outside- waits about 30 seconds, and then goes back in.

WTH?

I hate to waste food. There are so many things that can be done with leftovers, that there's no need to throw it out.

Leftover mashed 'taters becomes potato cakes within a few days by adding egg, diced onion, and a dusting of flour. Brown on both sides, and you have a new side dish.

Leftover vegetables becomes veggie soup.

Leftover pork loin becomes hash the next morning by adding diced 'taters and onions.

Left over beef roast becomes beef and noodles.

That brief period of my childhood, where our food supply was so small that we had to depend on the charity of others, taught me a very valuable lesson at a young age...don't ever waste it, you never know when it won't be there.
