iPad 3 vs iPad 2: Comments/Experiences?
I am at that juncture.
Is the 3 worth the extra money?

Im not sure. At this point in time it's a good tablet. Nice video processor and the hi-res screen is nice ( though not necessary at all for such a small screen, mostly a gimmick IMO) but given a few months after its released, the competition will have better hardware for the money. Also note that because the Ipad runs at high native resolution it really needs that new GPU to produce acceptable performance. It's really up to you if you're an apple kind of guy or not.
I've noticed apple products have good resale. You can easily recoup over half your money you spent on your ipad 2 on ebay.

We have both, 32gb wifi only. In head to head comparison, there doesn't seem to be any noticeable speed differences, but the retina display of the new iPad is sharper . . . But only if what you're viewing is pixel packed, otherwise it's hard to say that a website is nicer on the new compared to the 2.
If you're going to use wireless broadband, then the LTE blows away 3G. So, depending pon what you plan to do with it, will likely dictate the choice. If you need hi res graphics and fast cellular wireless the new iPad is the way to go. |
