sandpaper wheel cylinder hone?
I did some port work on my aluminum formula ford head and need to smooth it out. When I was young I had a cheapo wheel cylinder tool which consisted of a course square of sandpaper trapped in a shank which went into the drill. it cleaned up cylinders but left them a little grainy. anyone know where I can buy one of these?

Split a wooden dowel and insert a length of emory cloth into the split line. You can use it in a drill. If you want to get fancy, split it twice and add to lengths. it will cut in forward and reverse. It works in a pinch, and does a decent job.

Being alloy you need to be gentle.
A 1/4" bolt with a few round pieces of scotch brite say 1 1/4" Diameter held between 2 washers on the bolt is great for polishing alloy. You dont need genuine stuff ~ cheap pot cleaning pads from the supermarket are good for cutting the circles out of. Emery is way too harsh. 600 wet and dry is good if wet with diesel. My dremil has attachments that take a cylindrical piece of emery.

If you can find the right diameter, go to town! Good luck.
