I know. States with abstinence only curriculum's have the highest birth rates yet they continue to enforce a failed policy.

Look at Palin as a perfect example. She preaches abstinence yet Bristol got knocked up before she got married and her son knocked up his girlfriend. And if if you do the math there is a good possibility that Palin was knocked up before she got married as well.

The abstinence policy works as well as prohibition did.

When your teenage boy comes home from school one day, let him walk to his room to find he can't get in for a pram and then dump the baby on him and disappear for half an hour.
Trust me, it will curb his chasing girls at school, especially if you combine the experience with a terse lecture on why it isn't done to chase tarts.

Another showboat law - only purpose is to give certain politicians bragging rights with certain constituents come election time - just as meaningless as the ancient sodomy laws still on the books in some states, and the political theatre that Congress staged after the last election having the House vote to repeal OC.

I'd say out of fairness that the only true known imbeciles in TN are the members of their legislature that proposed and passed this - I don't think that the good people of TN, with all the other problems facing them, really felt a pressing need for this piece of legislation over other items.

At that, when I was in middle and high school near 40 years ago, the teachers and principals were already enforcing the no holding hands/no kissing rule and handing out suspensions accordingly. From what I've heard, little has changed in that regard as far as the school system is concerned.
