Did you hire Jason Statham as your chauffeur?

Several years ago I started looking into an Audi to replace my Subaru. I started lusting after the A8 then switched to an A6 with the 4.2 V8. I would jump at the chance of owning an S8. Indeed the '03 was the best year. The only thing I can say is "good luck" with the maintenance.

In the end I got a killer deal on a Passat W8.

I too wanted the A6 with the 4.2. I love the wide body look. Well the S8 came up for sale and I could not resist. I like the idea of the low import numbers.

She just crossed the 77k miles on when we got it. T-Belt and brakes were just done at 73k. I was/ am a little worried about the maintence but I read up quite a bit before buying it and found that it wasn't too bad . quattroworld.com Forums: D2 A8/S8 (1997 - 2003)

I have that SX4 Suzuki that we mostly drive and only averaged about 7500 miles a year on the A4 so I have convinced myself to go for it.

So far I really like the car and pleased to have it.

I really like the W8 with 4motion . 6 speed..fun car I bet ....Rare

that is good the belts were just done. That is usually the first biggie with those cars. They usually replace the water pump with it so it is not cheap.

The W8 was rare indeed. If you got crazy about it and broke down the numbers there were less than 5000 made. Less than 500 of those were the 6spd manual. My car was 1 of 15 with the black on black.

I flew to FL from PA to pick up the car. I had it one year and sold it to a guy in KC, MO. I picked him up at Pittsburgh airport and him and his wife drove it home.

Good luck and congrats on the S8!
