Format the cell or column

Right click and in the text box look for Format. Choose the type of number in the cell (Date, Amount, etc) and then the new box will allow you to set the amount of numbers, decimals, how date is displayed, etc,

With some fonts, the numbers aren't a uniform "width" so even though the cells may be formatted the same, the text is too wide for the given column width for some while others aren't and appear correctly.

Under Date, all of the dates were in the column,so the with is ok. I must have screwed up and hit the wrong button and only 7 out of 32 dates have this problem. If i double click on the problem ######## the proper date appears, but when i try to correct the next one ####### comes back on the one i fixed.

On the very top where the column is labeled (a, b, c, d, etc.) move your mouse right to the border of the next column label, it should be a little line with two arrows if you sit it right. Click hold and drag to make the column bigger. Or, highlight the whole column, go into the format menu, then highlight columns, then select autofit. (or on office 2010 it's on the home menu, the "cells" section, click format)

Make the column wider. Some numbers (i.e. 1 vs 4) are "wider" than others, thus more likely to overflow a narrow column. 1/1/11 may work while 8/8/44 may overflow!

Spreadsheet is complete but it wont print.I tried adjusting Print Settings but to no avail. When i click on preview i keep getting a blank page. Printer works fine on all other pages. The first time i tried to print the spreadsheet it was not wide enough. What ever i did i screwed it up.

A blank preview would indicate that the Print Range (designation of cells to print) isn't right. Just reset the print range again by highlighting the area you want printed.

Have you defined the print area?

If not, begin at top left of the spreadsheet you wish to print. left click, hold and move cursor to last column on right, then go to bottom of spreadsheet and when the entire area is highlighted, release

Then: File, Print area, Set print area and you are good to go.
Click on print preview(icon with mag. glass) to see if you have the entire range on one page. If not, you can edit the print size there or change the layout from portrait to ladndscape. If you shrink the print size from 100 to say 85, you are also shrinking column width, so don't be surprised if the ####'s re-appear on the printed doc.
Trial & error
