what would you do

sisters car dropped on one side, the shock or something failed... and the left side sits about 2 inches lower, when it dropped she was moving (just started) took out the CV axle (dented possibly bent) lower ball joint bent a control arm, ruptured a tie rod end (I just freakin replaced) who knows what else is torn up.... Car smokes and drinks oil faster then a old hooker at a sleezy bordello transmission is on it's way out.... I want to scrap the POS while there's still something to scrap... would you do the same thing?

I think that is possibly an understatement. Scrap, burn, push off cliff, or otherwise make that thing go away with a quickness.

I am a little curious what actually failed in the suspension though.

If the sister is not a driving enthusiast, then Honda and Toyota appliances are probably the way to go. If she is an enthusiast, she probably already knows what she wants.

chil, you forgot the most important first step: Drain oil.

Aquatic, scrap and run away! If her friends attempt to limp it along, you'll still be sucked into that vortex.

Buy it off her for $250 and enter it into 24 Hrs of LeMons. Replace with a Prius, VW TDI, or FR-S, depending on her tastes.

It's technically my car until she pays me off. which in all likelyhood. will never happen... time will tell. just a matter of time... I should disable the low oil cutoff... she has a tendancy to run it low since it eats oil all the time.....

Shocks ( actually spring dampers) are not load carrying components. They simply damped the oscillations of the spring. The springs carry the load, but would tend to continue oscillating. Shocks control the springs.
Although some versions of the MacPherson strut combine the spring and the shock so that the housing for the strut does carry the load, maybe that is what failed.
I'd suspect either a broken spring, or spring mount, or rust thru of a structural component.

In any event, the vehicle's useful lifespan is rapidly approaching zero.
