Yup. in 1970 the rate for income over 200K was 71% and change. Sounds good to me.
Nostalgia ain't what it used to be.

Index that income level to the inflation rate since then. $200,000 isn't what it used to be. The buying power isn't nearly as much.

I don't begrudge paying taxes to live in the best country in the world, and to keep it that way.

I think we have to concede that the left will never match the right when it comes to political tactics. Karl Rove, for example, figured out that it does no good for politicians to shade the truth. Rove has taught us that, rather than shading the truth, politicians should say the opposite of the truth. Recent examples include Romney's claim that the GM bailout was his idea and the right's supposed outrage that Obama bragged about killing bin Laden. Rove's tactic is counterintuitive, but it appears to work. Now we have this so-called controversy over the use of the word "Forward." The reason this one is so ingenious is that it is impossible to respond to something so idiotic. It's so utterly twisted, it must have been crafted by some right-wing Tom Waits.

This "Forward" thing is political correctness on steroids.

No, I don't believe those things. One way you can tell that I don't believe the things you wrote is to read what I wrote. I don't understand why people read someone's words, then write something completely different, and then say, "That's what you believe?" The answer, again, is no, I don't believe what you wrote. I believe what I wrote.

My post is just my biased opinion. I didn't mean it to be taken as scientific truth. I imagine the Democrats have made arguments as idiotic as this "Forward" thing, I just can't recall any examples. If you have any, I would like to see them.
