Question France drifts left: au revoir Sarkozy. Good or bad?

For the members of the SNCF (French National Railway Transportation Workers Union),

It's a GOOD thing.

Definately a good thing.

And the pharma workers will do OK too.

Oh yeah

Less relevant than what's happening in Greece.

Greece would be better off seceding from the Euro, and the Euro would be better off without them.

This is a national election with a slight sea change.

Sarko was not a Tea Party type, just a little right of center.

What's happening in Greece and soon, in Spain, may tilt the ship over, or cause a giant hiccup that may eject some passengers. That is more serious, my two cents' worth.

BTW-- to whomever who put the storybook entitled " Martine bosse à la SNCF" -- do you really know what that means? I ask, because I do, and it's completely out of context.

I'm curious about your explanation.

Yes. But they are not the only ones and the result will be dire.

Dire as in amusing to watch. It would actually be better for Greece. As far as the Germans, f--- 'em. They'll survive with some level of pain.

We'd have a double dip, but we'd survive, just as the world survived the split of the USSR.

The USSR was a basket case form the get go with almost no economic effect on the real world and it mattered not what happened to it. Europe is different and the US has far too much exposure to it to be merely slightly inconvenienced by a slight double dip.

Perhaps worth repeating -

Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy; its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery. (Winston Churchill)

The euro was the dream of the banking elite; their greed will ultimately lead to the euro's demise.

However, the banksters will not give up without a fight.
