Very nice! Curiously, the 3rd, which is the ragtop had the same license plate as the first and the last.
It is possible the have switchable plates now. You can only drive one at a time, and with cars like these it makes even more sense. Chances are, those 2 belong to 1 owner.

Like, yesterday.

No, you are incorrect.

coupe #1 WL PS 582

cabrio #2 WL PS 584

coupe #3 WL PS 582

Both car #1 and the last car have the SAME license number plate AND a big number 503 on the driver's door.

(#504 with driver Peter Seidenberg of Seidenberg racing seen here:
http://www.mercedes-fans.de/inside/inside_artikel/id=199 )

So coupe #1 and the last coupe are the SAME car.

As to the number plates:

Abk.

Stadt/Landkreis (optional mit Kreisstadt)

abgeleitet von

Bundesland

WL =

Landkreis Harburg in Winsen (Luhe)

Winsen (Luhe)

Niedersachsen

couple of examples.

==============
A Pan Am 727, waiting for start clearance in Munich, overheard the following:

Lufthansa: (In German) "Ground, what is our start clearance time?"
Ground: (In English) "If you want an answer, you must speak in English"
Lufthansa: (In English) "I am a German, flying a German airplane, in Germany.
Why must I speak English?"
Unknown voice from another plane: (In beautiful British accent) "Because you lost the bloody war!"
==============

The German air controllers at Frankfurt are renowned as a short tempered lot.
They expect one to know one's gate parking position, and also how to get there without any assistance from them. So it was with some amusement that we (A Pan Am 747) listened to the following exchange between Frankfurt ground control and a
British Airways 747, call sign Speedbird 206:

Speedbird 206: "Frankfurt, Speedbird 206 clear of active runway"
Ground: "Speedbird 206, taxi to Alpha One-Seven"
The BA 747 pulled on to the main taxiway and slowed to a stop.

Ground: "Speedbird, do you not know where you are going?"
Speedbird 206: "Stand by, Ground. I'm looking up our gate location now."
Ground: (with quite arrogant impatience) "Speedbird 206, have you not been to Frankfurt before?"
Speedbird 206: (cooly) "Yes, twice, in 1944 - but it was dark. And I didn't land"

Jim don't forget Porsche.

Clarkson just found the top end of a 911 Carrera4s on the Autobahn and its about 200ish.

Porsche claims 193 but like all German manufactures that's a pretty conservative number.

That's unlikely to be German humor. It's the usual kind of "lost the war" pranks being pulled on Germans. Get it right Jim.

You yourself personally - as embodied in your remarks on this forum, seem to embody the archtypical lack of humor for which Germans are so notorious.

Let's leave it there.

The funniest part was during the last second of that video, when the Brits tried to get out of their jumpsuits.

I know you like to consider yourself as the undisputable reference when being humorously subjective.
Let me tell you something: It's a humorless perception to regard Germans as humorless.
It's obvious, humor is subjective and certainly not limited to the up in your face "Hey look, I'm funny" kind of silliness you seem to favor so greatly.

Damn Hattie that's close to what I'm looking at.

Your on track with the CLK - though not a DTM. Im looking at a few CLK63 Black Series pretty closely right now.

Found a black one right in my price range. If it checks out it will be on a truck headed to CA!
