Home is good

7 days gone. Phoenix (urp), Tucson, side trip to Nogales to get a pair of boots rebuilt, Sonoita, Elgin, Willcox. All work, with only one side trip to Arizona Stronghold Vineyard. Home is good. At least I didn't have to stay at any steenking hoteles.

You must hate coming down into Phoenix.

I have approximately 1 million relatives in the valley. The only time we all get together is when somebody is married, baptised or buried. Since I don't do funerals, have sworn off weddings unless they're secular (in my family they NEVER are) and object to baptism, I pretty much don't have a reason to go there any more. Phoenix 50 years ago was a big treat. No longer. I only like Tucson a tiny bit more.

Is the stronghold vinyard adjacent to Cochise's stronghold? Last trip coming tru i went to the stronghold and then thru the wide loop to Cheiricauwa National monument--
- Then cut back to 10 on what was obviously an old stagecoach road--and Hit 10 in a pistacio farm.

Cochise Stronghold is on the western side of the Chiricahuas, southwest of Willcox. Az Stronghold Vineyard is SE of the Willcox Playa, which is east of the town of Willcox and NE of the mountain range. They have vineyards all over the place near Willcox, but I was visiting the main one. The company has vineyards all over, but I wanted to see their biggest tract.

It's unusual for me to be away. Fortunately the work I was doing allowed me to stay with my clients, all of whom are friends or who at least know me to begin with.

Me neither, but 2 or 3 times a year is OK, long as I'm among known entities and well compensated.
