Well, I finally managed to get around to pulling my Marlin 45/70 lever action out of the closet, and getting it cleaned up and ready for service.

Went yesterday to get a box of ammo for it. Between Gander Mountain and Richard's Sporting Goods, the choices were Remington 300 grain hollow points for $48/box at GM, and Hornady 325 grain rubber "flextip" for $34 at GM and $29 at DSG.

Since I was just looking at doing some target shooting to get used to the rifle again, I opted for the Hornady's.

Anyone else ever tried these and have any opinions on them?

BTW - GM had an FN 57 in the display case, black on black - $1149.
