Military housing
Anyone familiar with the RPP program?
Rental Partnership Program (RPP) I am likely going to be looking for renters for my house (new house is a short sale, so won't know for a while) and am looking at making the old house available to military personnel through this program. Wondering what kind of discount they expect. Seems like a good route, as I would gladly take less money that came with a guarantee... Also, having known quite a few military people, I would feel better about having them as renters instead of just any schmoe off the street. At least you can be sure they will not get laid off...

I used to do that with my first house. I went through the program at WPAFB, renting to military personnel only. it guaranteed I would get my rent. If they didn't pay, I contacted their CO, who would have it deducted from the person's pay.
The program may have changed over the years since then, though.
