Oops... mixed Premium with Methanol - now what?
Getting ready for the long weekend - exited to go fishing, I've made a big mistake. I've topped off my 6.5 gallon tank for my boat (4-stroke EFI) engine with Methanol - about 1/3 of it to top it off!!!
I know I have to remove that mixture from the boat tank before I run the marine engine which doesn't tolerate E15 very well so I'm sure Methanol will not be welcome in the combustion chamber or in any of the hoses. Question - after I siphon it out of there - what can I do with a Premium fuel that's 30% methanol?! Can our Honda Pilot run on it or should I not risk adding it to the tank?!

You probably have 105 octane racing fuel now. But I wouldn't really run it unless you are sure your insides won't corrode.

The methanol will probably soften all the plastic bits in your fuel system.
If you have a car that can run on E20, all will be good, otherwise use it to kill weeds or start a fire.

A "flexfuel" vehicle can run upwards of E85. But then we're talking ethanol.
Here's a thought - check with any local drag strips or racing shops in your area - see if there are any hot rodders or drag racers that might be interested or could make use of your premium "racing" fuel - at the least they should be able to tell you how to safely use it up, other than using it to kill weeds.

if you dilute it with a large amount of normal fuel I'm sure you can get by. think of it more of an injector cleaner O_o

Yeah, then challenge your friends to a foot race around the neighborhood. If you calculate it right you could get 2 blocks to the glassful.

Just dilute it down to 5 or ten percent methanol and use in place of your normal gasoline.
