Second verse:

if the words sound queer or funny to your ear
a little bit jumbled or jivey
sing "mares eat oats
and does eat oats
and little lambs eat ivy"

I have squandered my resistance
For a pocket full of Mercedes keys; such are promises
All lies and jests
Still a man hears what he wants to hear
And disregards the rest
