Semi casual shoe, what do you think?

I need a nice shoe, something I can wear a lot with a sports jacket. Think several days a week. I already have a set of full dress shoes for a suit.

What do you think of this:

I vote for the second one. (group 1310) Although the top one might be more comfortable. Make sure the heel isn't too hard, or you will click-clack on hard surfaces.

Yeah, I know the second one is more , but I don't like the first one with that stretch band on the outside. btw, you can get johnston & murphy's for a lot less and they look just as good.

I have horrible luck with Cole Haan's...I wear the soles out in no time. Buck up and get some Allen Edmonds, they feel great and wear like iron.

The second one is a new style, so I don't think I can get it much cheaper.

Older style is about $100 less.

Still it is a nice shoe.

I don't know, the Cole Haan looks a bit better IMHO:

Or is this a Ford vs Chevy, BMW vs Mercedes thing?

Yeah, but Allen Edmons is close to Ferragamo prices which is a Cole-Haan product if he wants to get real tricky.

First one seems a bit too Metro, second one's cool though as black can be worn with nearly anything.

Heh

I like the "Joplins" on that site. Get a tweed jacket, a blue shirt with a French collar, and you can rock out like Turkish from Snatch wherever you go. Gangsta

He's the guy to extreme left BTW

Ditto. For those of us who can't justify $80+ for shoes (OK, so I spend that on running shoes, but only because I have to!), Bass make a perfectly nice casual dress shoe. I bought a pair of driving mocs on clearance at the outlet store last year that are great for long trips.
