Poll: dead-tree vs Kindle
Somehow it makes me happy that a lot of the books on my Amazon wishlist are cheaper used than they are delivered to a Kindle. Being able to hold it in your hand and read it isn't the same as buying the rights to it.

I'd prefer hard copies to any book that I like and would read more then once which I generally do. but have not found much to pique my interest in awhile :/

Dead tree. I buy hard copies of all of my books, I annotate, highlight, write, and erase all sorts of stuff. For academic articles I prefer PDFs though, I use Adobe Acrobat to annotate them the same way. I'm not sure where that puts me

There is a whole industry in the southeast US built on providing trees for making paper so please, keep purchasing those hardcopy books, newspapers, magazines, toilet paper, etc.... Don't believe all the hype concerning running out of trees. They are being cut and replanted all the time around these parts. We actually have some thinning going on now that started about three weeks ago.
With that said, the very first newpaper that was printed on newsprint (newspaper paper) made with pine was a 1933 edition of The Soperton News. The trees for that first newsprint was supplied by my grandfather who was the first person to ever plant pine trees as a crop. Dr Charles Herty was the person that figured out how to process pine chips to newsprint. He was good friends with my grandfather. If the tree huggers would come spend a few weeks with me they would see how much work it is to keep stuff cut back and sprayed. As long as it rains, stuff grows.

I don't have time to read much and I do have issues with my mind wandering. I have noticed that with the Kindle (or even while using the Kindle app on my iPhone), that it is less of an issue. I'm guessing it's psychological.

I like paper books. I like to keep my book shelf filled with books that I can go back and read whenever I want,

Depends on the book. If it's fiction or something I won't likely refer to then it goes to my Kindle -- otherwise it's paper.

Digital for me, I like to control font sizes as well as not have 100's of books lying around collecting dust.

Digital. Access anywhere with less weight and less things to dust and keep around.

Dead trees....
I got a Kindle for Christmas. Fiddled with it for about a month before I put it away. That said, this is definitely an age demographics thing. The younger folks are much more comfortable with electronic reading than us ORFs.

Real books, screens bother my eyes after awhile, and books don't need batteries.
