This program has been in place for many, many years. I remember when it was cut to $50,000 when Reagan was President in order to bring in more investment cash.

Back then the greatest number of people taking advantage of this program came from India. They would come here, buy a small motel, and have a business and a place to live. This is why during that era there were so many people named Patel that owned small Mom and Pop motels.

Fine with me. At least they bring cash and jobs.

Since you mentioned it and I was curious, I looked up the numbers for the Subway (sandwich) franchise. From 2006:

He worked his way through UConn, got a job at United Technologies and saved his money. He bought his first Subway franchise in 1994 and now owns 30 shops throughout CT plus Springfield & Boston, MA.

Yup. There is an old saying: Come to America! And bring money!

I don't have any problem with this at all. America was built by people who thought that if they applied themselves and worked hard they would get ahead.

What country would not want more people like this?

Mojados dorados, except they don't have to swim if we're welcoming them with open arms. I see no problem, as said above, this has been going on for decades at least.

I don't follow. Why would they even need to swim if the have something of value? They come with money to invest or abilities that we need, why should the govt, any govt slam the door in their face? The only time you need to break in is when you don't bring much to the table and thus, are not welcomed.

They don't have to swim because we're welcoming them with open arms due to the cash in their pockets. They're not wetbacks. Like I said, no problem.
