That guy is crazy!

But if he starts a blog maybe he could make money at it.

I'm kindof like Thomas Edison. I love the creative process but have trouble warming up to anything that cannot be used to make money.

Of course my autocrossing hobby obviously does not fit the mold, though a good part of my invested money can be recovered upon sale of the race car and trailer.

Tom,

That's why they call it a hobby. Everybody needs one and occasionally people make their career out of their hobby. Those are the lucky people.

I remember my Grandpa telling me that if I could find a job that I loved, I would never have to work another day in my life. I spent about 20 years with such a job, and he was right. Most of that time I looked forward to getting out of bed and working.

My airplane is like your race car. Maybe I'll cash it in someday, maybe not.

I only hope that the last sentence is not one with an unintentional double meaning.

I gave that same advice to my sons. One was not able to focus well enough to profit from it, but the other was. He earns his living by doing three things he enjoys most---playing his Tuba in groups from symphonies to quartets, teaching students how to play low brass ( and how to breathe), and teaching music theory to college students. He won't get rich; but he really enjoys the mix of activities.

I hope not. If I cash it in the way that I THINK you mean, I suppose I won't have to worry about selling it. Someone else can sell the scrap pile. If the avionics survive, the scrap pile will be worth something.
