is my PC cr@pping out again?

There is weirdness not even a week into a fresh installation of XP Pro on a new HD. When I launch a MS Office app from an existing file, the app launches but doesn't launch the file. I have to go File -> Open -> etc. With QuickBooks, I don't get the list of account files. I have to manually select an account to launch and I don't get the traditional workflow screen. What's going on?

Thanks,
Sixto

Doesn't seem to matter whether it's a file created before or after the latest installation of XP. It's only Excel, Word and PowerPoint go straight to the document. In fact, sometimes Excel displays the spreadsheet, sometimes not until I hover the cursor over the Office button at the upper left corner of the screen, sometimes not until I search for the file using File -> Open -> ... After a couple of reboots, QuickBooks launches normally. I think Apple targeted me with malware to make me buy a Mac.

lol

this is an odd problem.... Well, one thing I'd try is to reinstall the office suite and see if that helps some... I'm not aware of any other fix other then dealing with the small inconveniances with it like this. Also check for Updates before reinstalling. it could be one of them will correct the issue

Try downloading the latest Office Service pack from MS.
