Finally a barn find 1992 300D, 101K Miles but not exactly..

I found this car advertised by my local BMW dealer, it was traded by the original owner for a 5 series. I called when I saw it, response was that they already had a deposit on it. They called me this morning and the deal fell through so I went to look at it and bought it on the spot.
So its raining but at first glance

New MB Battery/ Brand new hood pad
Orange needles
MB Text is perfect
It has the ortho seat option / it actually works
Locks work
Climate control works perfect/ a/c is ice cold/ pods work as they should
Everything works in the car, plus they put new tires on it, cruise, sunroof, windows, locks, rims looks new, brand new tires, books/ records stamped from a local Houston dealer (Star). European delivery badge on the grill, paint is awesome. Spare has something I have never seen, a MB gas can under the mat? Drove it and everything checked. Not one thing does not work, original radio/ antenna work. Seats move with no noise (headrests work as well ). I feel like I finally got a barn find but not really. Got a good deal.

Nice, that gas can in the spare tire is an option if I am not mistaken.

Yes, it is...but NOT in the USA.

Here is mone. It's a 7 litre jerrycan, a genuine brand new Mercedes Benz (Gemany-only) accessory.

Designed to fit perfectly over the sparee tire, as seen in my 560SEC.

And they are illegal in the USA because of the DOTs quarrels about the nozzle for it.

I found this one online in san diego. It had been in a 190E show car that wa stolen and recovered and wrecked. The owner managed to salvage it. It was brand new with never a drop of diesel or gas in it.

So it was not cheap. But they are highly sought after. If you don't want iot, I wi by yurs if it is this one. they do fit universally in the w124 and w126 cars.

Sounds like your car was VERY well bought; I like the w124 cars a lot. I love driving mine. It's beautifuly balanced, and very reliable.

the jerry can is pretty cool. I'd love one but I put a lot of stuff in that spot. Jumper cables, reflective vest, zip ties, tools, etc.

Not necessarily. It does sound like the OP lucked into a great deal though.

I feel I got a really good deal, especially with only 101k miles. Should be a keeper.

I'm not too familiar with anything newer than about 87. What are those air intake slot looking things in the front fender ? Great looking car otherwise.
