500sec, 560sec and 380sec's at Sun Valley junk yards.

Was bored today so I decided to give the junk yards in Sun Valley a visit; didn't find what I was looking for but I was shocked by the amount of W126's there were in the yards. Never saw that many and we are pretty spoiled here in SoCal.

Besides the usual 560SEL's and 300SD's, there are at least, between both yards, 6 SEC's including three 500SEC's and a 500SE with what looks like had a AMG treatment; all chrome was painted black like the rest of the car, it had the typical brown Euro velour interior complete with out the head rests. One 500SEC had Euro headlights in good condition, if someone is interested let me know.

One 500sec is complete and is for sale for $3000,- black with Euro bumpers, interior looked worn.

Besides the W126 coupes there are two 300CD's, one 280CE, one 560SL and two 450SLC's.

Also found this blast from the past: Opel Mantra, every '80's Euro boys wet dream...and behind the Mantra you can see the 500SE.

but there are many more yards. The big Mercedes cars came into that yard in DROVES in the cash for clumkers days not long ago which was a HUGE but temporary spike in parts for w126 cars.

I believe it was a federal program and part of the program requirement was that the engine be permanently disabled to prevent it from re-entering service.

You could have made many people happy with this car!

This car ( aside from the W124 series) is the strongest MB enige ever built.

This is a MB V8 engine, know for doing over 300.000 km and over. This was without oil and fluids.

Why waste this car??? its worth over 12.000 euros.

Doing this you should get death penalty!!!

yeah but most likely the lucky former idiot owner traded in his paid for W126 for a car with car payments. The idiots in congress wrote up the program so that all engines had to be seized, thus denying all of us access to perfectly good engines and engine parts.
