His lawyer issued the statement that Mr. Edwards has not mis-used campiagn funds.

Isnt that knuckle-heads carreer over?

Or is he simply polishing up his 'Political Resume'.

Looks like edwards is going to give a public statement.
Should be the usual..blah..blah...blah.

I know that from watching his attorney poke his finger at the
camera, folks should be in for a televised trial/performance worthy of F. Lee Bailey in his prime.

It takes a person trained in the law to say that he is not guilty because he never intended to break the law. While intent is a part of equation, so is the actual activity.
Try telling the IRS you never intended to not pay all your taxes--do you think they'd buy that?

I know virtually nothing about the law regarding campaign funds but it seems intent may be relevant because from what I have read in the papers, the issue is whether he was intending to hide his sins from his wife or from his political supporters using the money. If from his wife, I've gathered he's off the hook. Is that correct legally?
