Montana might play a huge role in the future of the rule announced in the Citizens United case. Montana's Supreme Court ruled that Citizens United did not prevent Montana from regulating corporate contributions in state elections. The U.S. Supreme Court is considering whether to take the case on appeal. The Montana case might give the non-insane justices an opportunity to fix some of the harm caused by Citizens United.

I am coming to the conclusion that Citizens' United may, above all other legislative or SCOTUS action, be what causes the downfall of our political system.
